Rock Island eventually beat East Moline United Township 24-14 on Sept. 29 in Illinois football action. Neither defense permitted points in the first and second quarters. East Moline United Township darted a slim margin over Rock Island as both teams headed to make end of the third quarter adjustments. The final quarter was decisive for the Rocks, as they climbed out of a hole with a 24-14 scoring margin.
