According to city officials, in additional to requiring siting approval from Moline and the Rock Island County Waste Management Agency, the facility must also obtain a permit from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): The City of Moline is in the early stages of planning and approving a new private sector transfer station located near the Quad Cities International Airport that is expected to help the city control future garbage rates, extend the useful life of area landfills, bring two recycling drop-off centers back to Rock Island County and create further development, according to a media release from City of Moline officials.
